Roger started his working career in the Trustee Savings Bank in his home town of Stockport, he then enlisted in to the Royal Air Force as a Navigational Instrument Technician, working on the Hercules transport and Vulcan bomber aircraft, at various sites around the world.
Having served for 9 years, he spent the next 27 years with BT as a data transmission engineer before taking redundancy in 2004.
During this time his interest in the sport of badminton developed, having qualified as a coach in 1977, Roger was instrumental in organising and running numerous charity tournaments, raising tens of thousands of pounds for blind children.
In addition Roger worked for Lincolnshire County Council for 25 years, running evening courses for both adults and children at various schools in the area.
In May 2006 Roger took up his position with the Partnership as a Level 2 Coach. Outside of work, his hobbies involve walking, cycling and youth hostelling. |
