Lincolnshire Sports Partnership is a registered charity set up to allow Local Authorities, National Governing Bodies of Sport, Educational Establishments, and Voluntary Organisations to work together to create, develop, maintain and promote a single delivery system for sport across the County. Acting as the strategic body and sometimes operational vehicle the Partnership’s aim is to improve sporting opportunities across the County - getting more people, playing more and better sport.
The core functions of the Partnership are as follows:
• To provide strategic guidance, policy development and planning support to partners and other key countywide agencies.
• To provide a coordination service (including operational delivery where necessary) for sports organisations trying to work together across Lincolnshire
• Actively lobbying politicians, departments and agencies to help further the interests of sport in Lincolnshire.
• Represent Lincolnshire’s interests at major national or Regional conferences and one-off meetings, summits, seminars and the like to give a voice for sport in the county.
• To undertake, research and develop individual projects and initiatives wherever circumstances require a co-ordinated approach from the membership.
• To promote sport (as defined by Sport England and as supported though company membership process) across the county in all its forms, in particular acting as a one-stop enquiry hub for members of the public providing either the answers, or direction to information and contacts.
• Provide support for funding submissions and bids made by company members.
• Seek out and disseminate information relating to best practice in sport & recreation working.
• Assist all partners to effectively collate data and research relevant to the development of sport and recreation and its impact on the county.
