The aim is to increase and sustain participation in sport
across 25, 340 people aged 16+ by 2012, this equates to an
annual increase of 4,223.
Sport England has an ambition to increase and sustain participation
in sport across 2 million people by 2012. This requires an
East Midlands increase of 158,850 in the next five years.
Lincolnshire’s contribution of 25,340 has an important
part to play in realising this ambition. It is also important
that we illustrate the county contribution to our partners
so they can witness the real difference their investment makes
to our communities.
Sport England is the lead organisation responsible for achieving
these targets. The main focus is on people aged 16 years plus,
and priority groups.
Priority Groups are defined as women, black and minority ethnic
groups, disabled people and lower socio- economic groups.
