In Olympic Year the Lincolnshire Show 2008 teamed up with
Lincolnshire Sports Partnership to offer a Sports Zone full
of exciting visitor activities.
The Sports Zone was a new addition to the County Show and
provided 15 ‘come and try it’ sporting activities
over the two day event. A wide variety of sports were on offer
including traditional sports such as rugby, cricket, football,
cycling & tennis.
Exciting displays and workshops were also put on by Lincoln’s
Kofukan Karate Club, Jivefusion, Streetz Ahead Theatre Artz,
Power Yoga & Tai Chi.
New for 2008, Sitting Volleyball was represented at the Show
for the first time. Members of the public were encouraged
to join in with the GB Sitting Volleyball Team & play
this exciting fun sport.

Volleyball, coached the sessions instructing the public taking
part on the basic skills of the sport.
There were also many sporting competitions on offer including
a cycling competition hosted by Olympic Silver Medallist Bryan
Steel, & of course Concept 2’s challenging rowing
relay.
