Tickets go on sale for Woodhall Spa Cricket Club v Lashings World XI 11th Mar 2008

On Tuesday 12th August 2008 The Lashings World XI Cricket Team will be coming to Jubilee Park Ground in Woodhall Spa.

The day will begin mid- morning for local youngsters as they take part in a special coaching session with club coaches featuring at least four members of the Lashings World XI Squad.

However the main event will start at 2.30pm when Woodhall Spa’s first XI will take on the Lashings World XI in a 35 over one day game.

Congratulations to Sleaford Town Runners! 11th Mar 2008

Sleaford Town Runners have become the first road running club in East Midlands to achieve Clubmark Accreditation.

The club has spent the last few months working hard on the pack and has now achieved the lucrative status.

The club have evidenced that they can meet and exceed criteria within club areas such as Club Management, Duty of Care and Welfare, Sports Equity and Ethics and Coaching and Competition Programme.

Established in 2006 Sleaford Town Runners have shown that they are an equitable and safe club to be a member of and that they are open and accessible to all.

England Athletics East Midlands would like to congratulate Sleaford Town Runners for their efforts and commitment.

The club can now enjoy benefits such as heavily subsidised coach education course places and will receive a grant of £250 from England Athletics East Midlands for achieving accreditation.

Free Golf Coaching Taster Sessions at Carholme Golf Club 11th Mar 2008

Want to Get into Golf- then why not attend a FREE Golf Coaching taster session at Carholme Golf Club, during the school holidays commencing 21st March for Adults and Juniors.

The sessions are open to beginners/ non members, and provide an ideal opportunity to experience the game of golf. To book a lesson, with a PGA Professional please telephone the golf club on 01522 523725, golf clubs and balls are provided free of charge.

Free Golf Coaching is an imitative provided by the English Golf Union ( EGU) and the English Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) designed to help people to get into golf. Beginners of any age, gender or background can experience golf for the first time by registering at a participating venue and receive a FREE coaching taster session with a PGA professional. Three Lincolnshire Facilities to feature in the 2012 Training Camp Guide! 5th Mar 2008

Three Lincolnshire facilities are to feature in the London Organising Committee Pre-Games Training Camp it was revealed yesterday.

Over 600 facilities from across the UK will appear in the Guide, to be published at the Beijing Games. The Guide will contain high quality elite sporting facilities right across the UK that will provide teams and athletes with a great selection of venues.

The announcement follows a detailed assessment process, and audit of UK facilities.

Representing Lincolnshire in the Guide:

  • Laughton Manor Equestrian Centre
  • Princes Royal Sports Arena
  • Riseholme College, The University of Lincoln
