Netball is an internationally played non contact team sport
with seven players on each team who are all given nominated
positions; Goal Keeper, Goal shooter, Wing Attack, Wing Defence,
Centre, Goal Attack, & Goal Defence.
A game is played in four quarters, each one lasting 15 minutes;
the aim is to score more goals within a set time period, than
the opposing team. Each player is allowed in certain areas
of the court, a player in a section of court that isn’t
part of their playing area is deemed offside.
Netball is played all year round developing key skills such
as; agility, balance, hand eye coordination, & general
movement (running, jumping, throwing, catching.)
High 5 is a popular variation of the game of netball, particularly
amongst primary school children. The game is played within
the same court markings as netball, in four quarters, each
one lasting 6 minutes.
Each team has 5 players who rotate positions to adapt their
skills. Additional players have responsibility for time keeping,
scoring, or umpiring.
