What is Rugby?

Rugby Union is played by millions of people from all different parts of the world.
There are many different levels of the game and rules vary in terms of the age range of the participants, from the non-contact tag-rugby played by the younger players to full contact professional rugby.

At the highest-level Rugby can be a very exciting, fast flowing, physical contact sport, which is watched by millions of fans. At the lower levels it can be simply a bunch of fanatics playing for the love of the sport.

What are our aims for Rugby

It is the aim of the partnership staff to encourage the transition of young rugby players from school arenas and make an easy progression into the club environment. The clubs and coaches involved in this process are developing ever more through continued investment in areas of training, research and funding.
