Jayant started in sport when he saw a wheelchair tennis exhibition
whilst playing wheelchair basketball in Stoke Mandeville in
1986.
International Achievements
- Ranked in World’s top 10 since 1995 (only British
male player to be ranked in top 10 in the world)
- Holder of 65 International Career Titles (19 singles)
- Winner of the Inaugural doubles competition at Australian
Open in 2002 and Wimbledon 2005
- Represented Great Britain for 20 years including the
last 4 Paralympic Games & 20 World Team Cup’s?
- Led Great Britain to 4 World Team Cup semi-finals
- Reached the NEC Masters (end of year World Championships)

Q1: What is the best bit about being a champion?
To pass on the enthusiasm that I have for sport & to
inspire other people to have a sporting lifestyle.

Winning Wimbledon.
Being the player ambassador for Romainia and India for the
International Tennis Federation.
Having a child named after me in Geneva, Switzerland.

Believe in yourself and never give up.
