Club Mark

Lincolnshire has achieved a 35% increase in accredited sports clubs over the last year. This is the highest increase of any county in the East Midlands. To read the latest Club Mark report on Lincolnshire click here.

Sport England’s Club Mark scheme has been in place since 2002, and now boasts over 2,000 accredited clubs across 20 sports. The National scheme was established to recognise the sports clubs that are committed to providing a safe, effective, child friendly environment.

National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of sport and their affiliated clubs work together to meet the standards that will lead to better quality sports club provision for children and young people.

Clubmark accreditation is awarded to clubs that comply with the operating standards in four key areas:

  • The playing programme
  • Duty of care and child protection
  • Sports equity and ethics
  • Club management

Benefits

The Clubmark standard gives sports clubs of all types’ structure and direction. Clubs who sign up to the scheme will receive the following benefits:

  • Club development - By addressing issues such as Equity & Child Protection, accredited clubs will be able to attract new members and build a secure future.
  • Coach & Volunteer development - Clubmark supports clubs to develop the skills of coaches & volunteers.
  • Local & National recognition - Accredited clubs are listed on a national database, & will have a higher profile in the local community.
