About Parasport
Parasport is a web based programme designed to inspire, inform, educate and signpost disabled people and those interested in disability sport to high quality opportunities. Parasport is a partnership between ParalympicsGB and professional services firm Deloitte.
Parasport has 6 main areas of work: the wizard; club search; news and events; volunteering, skills and coaching; playground to podium and a talent programme.
Parasport Facts and Figures
•Over 30,000 users every months and growing.
• 47% of users using the ‘Find a club’ facility.
• Over 2,000 high quality clubs listed and more continually being added.
• Over £100k of additional funding leveraged in via various projects.
• Active partnership and development working with YST, Sport England, UK Sport, DCMS, DCSF, GOE, 2012, ScUK and VE.
• 15,000 YP attending Ability Days via 350 SSPs in 2nd year of Playground 2 Podium program and MyLogBook.
• Nearly all 450 SSPs signed up in the 3rd year of Playground 2 Podium.
• Over 1,000 hours of volunteering hours from Deloitte staff with more opportunities planned through out 2010.
